Mattie Kelly Arts Center - Vitriforms: Contemporary Glass Art opening on September 11, 2009

Form-u-lation - a triptych
vitreous enamels in kiln-fired glass
Opening on September 11th at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Vitriforms: Contemporary Glass Art featuring glass artists Terrie Corbett, Lesley Nolan, Bob Rubanowice and Cheryl Sattler.

Our opening is this coming Friday. For anyone in the Niceville, Destin, Fort Walton Beach area please stop by. The exhibit will run from the September 11th until October 18th. I have some new work and I'm excited about the opportunity to exhibit in the beautiful space. I will have 21 pieces in the exhibit. The piece shown here, Form-u-lation is one of three triptychs I will have on display.

I hope that everyone is having a nice holiday. I have just returned from blowing leaves off the porch to my studio and I'm getting ready to watch the game this evening! Chuck went fishing with a friend of our yesterday and caught a 26 inch Redfish! They had fun out on the boat.

I have discovered some interesting old photographs and I am trying to decide where to display them. They are of photos of my Mom and Dad before I was born. I also found some of me when I was little - all those eons ago!

I spent yesterday working on a lino cut. It has been years since I have attempted any printmaking at all. It shows! I enjoyed making it more than I liked what it looked like when it was printed!

Well, let's all go out and have a good day! FSU over Miami - yeah! Go Noles!

Sorry you both have been under the weather. I hope you are feeling better. We really enjoyed the opening reception. KC has a terrific staff, very nice and very professional just like her! The exhibition looks nice. We went out to dinner with KC and her husband afterwards (to throw back a few margaritas)then spent the night, and drove back on Saturday. I wrote to Junia to let her know that we would be unable to attend. I still need to get out there and see her show.
I hope that both of you feel better soon!
